The Mellomania brand stands for international established radio shows, international events, a popular compilation series and the booking department of Shah-Music. It all begun with a B-Day event of DJ Shah and Pedro Del Mar in a south German based club with 20 days and with a DJ Shah and Pedro Del Mar back2back set with four turntables and 4 CD decks at the same time! But let’s go step by step through the unique fields to get a closer impression about the Mellomania brand.
Originally founded by the brothers Pedro Del Mar and DJ shah in the late 90s, Pedro is the sole owner of the brand today. Pedro plays a major role in the European electronic music scene by owning with Shah-Music own labels, own publishing, an own promotion and booking department as well as the whole Mellomania brand. But also as an artist he is quite successful by having own single releases in more than 60 countries world-wide including several #1 dance charts positions and sales charts entries.
Since the early days of this decade, Mellomania is a highly respected name in the radio scene. After being as guests regularly live on air on Germany’s biggest dance station “Radio Sunshine Live”, Pedro Del Mar was invited to do a moderation casting and workshop on the station. Short time later he was asked to create a new and outstanding radio concept with his partner DJ Shah and on the 1st of november 2001, the first Mellomania episode went on air as a part of the famous “DJs Afterwork” series. In the following months the show kept growing until it recieved it’s very own slot on Monday evenings. It was the very first weekly live show in Germany featuring the world’s biggest DJs with guest sets including DJ Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Judge Jules, Markus Schulz, Gabriel & Dresden, Paul Oakenfold or Above & Beyond to name just a few. Following to this massive success the guys were asked by numerous international station to start hosting a global edition of this show.
